It is an establishment of research and agricultural higher education under the double supervision of the Ministry of agriculture, hydraulic resources and fisheries (IRESA) and that of Higher Education and Scientific Research (University of Jendouba). The Silvo-Pastoral Institute of Tabarka which was created by the finance law n° 66 in 1970 (article 39), currently organizes two courses of formation which last 3 academic years in the the fields of forestry and ecotourism.
